The resources is includes a range of information as follows:
Overview with key definitions and examples
Exam style questions with answers
Key information revision (shortened version of overview to aid revision)
Revision cards - linked to questions with answers, designed to reinforce key concepts and encourage concise answers
Blank question sheets to use for assessment
When using this is lessons, I provide pupils with the main overview of information. Pupils are encouraged to complete pre reading before the lesson and may make notes or highlight key information in advance of the lesson. If this is not possible, this can be built in to a lesson.
The concept of these revision lessons are that pupils revisit the information already covered in previous lessons.
First, they highlight and make notes on the topics provided.
Pupils revise the key information by answering the questions using their notes/key information provided. This can be done by creating their own revision cards or using the ones provided.
Knowledge recap - pupils test each other by asking any of the questions provided on the revision cards. If correct, the pupils score points. If incorrect, pupils are provided with the correct answer to reinforce this key information.
Pupils continue to revise independently for homework or in another lesson (see revision clocks also available) in preparation for a test.
Assessment lesson gives pupils a short time to revise before being given the questions as an assessment to see how secure their knowledge is on these topics.
As an additional lesson, these can be marked and then pupils can green pen any incorrect answers so that they are revisiting the knowledge that is not yet secure.
